Argentina defender Nicolas Otamendi has retired from international football after a 17-year career. The 38-year-old made 139 appearances, winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup and two Copa America titles. His final match was Argentina's 1-0 World Cup final defeat to Spain. Otamendi thanked Argentina in an emotional farewell, saying he leaves "with my head held high".
